Red Light and Infrared Light Therapy

Red and infrared light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation or low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to promote healing and improve function in the musculoskeletal system. This therapy has gained popularity for its ability to enhance recovery, reduce pain, and support overall wellness.

Red light therapy typically uses wavelengths between 630 nm and 660 nm, while infrared light utilizes wavelengths between 800 nm and 900 nm. These light waves penetrate the skin and are absorbed by cells, stimulating mitochondrial function, which is responsible for producing cellular energy (ATP).  Improved cellular function triggers a cascade of benefits, including reduced inflammation, enhanced tissue repair, and improved circulation in targeted areas. These effects make red and infrared light therapy particularly beneficial for musculoskeletal health.

Pediatric Care

Kids may not always have the words to tell you something isn’t right, but their behavior or physical changes often speak for them. A gentle chiropractic adjustment can make a difference in addressing issues like colic, constipation, ear infections, reflux, sleep difficulties, torticollis, and sensory challenges—just to name a few.

Hands-on care for kids is different than your typical adult chiropractic adjustment.  The force is applied as a sustained-contact or gentle vibration, and looks more like a focused massage for your newborn or infant.

Prenatal Care

Pregnancy is a beautiful process, but can put quite a burden on your body. Our care helps with the aches and pains to allow your body to be at its best.

Specialized tables at Core allow patients to lie face-down at all-stages of pregnancy, keeping pressure off of a growing abdomen and growing baby, all while taking pressure off of the spine. At a time when less medical interventions are available, this allows for comfortable and effective treatment of sciatica, back and neck pain, rib pain and headaches.

Soft Tissue Therapies

Therapies applied to muscle and fascia help reduce tension and relieve pain and restriction.  Soft tissue therapies aim to improve circulation, increase flexibility and speed recovery.  Common therapies used in adjunct with our chiropractic treatments include:

Cupping: Air-tight cups use negative pressure to draw circulation to specific areas

Instrument-Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization (IASTM): A metal tool is used to 'scrape' across the muscle and connective tissues to free adhesions and draw healing to specific areas.

Trigger Point Massage and Transverse Friction Massage - Deep and precise pressure applied to targeted areas to improve mobility and release muscle tension.

Physical Rehabilitation

Active care is important - it is the way you can improve your status when not receiving treatment in-office and improves your long-term prognosis.  Customized mobility and stretching drills, balance and core training, and demand-specific exercises focus on restoring movement, stability and strength.

Dry Needling

A small needle is inserted underneath the skin to reach injured muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments or bone.  Stimulation from this needle leads to focused healing in the area and helps relieve pain and promotes proper movement.

The needle that is used is similar to acupuncture needles, but the insertion is typically deeper than an acupuncture treatment, is applied specific to the area of pain and dysfunction, and does not need to be applied as-long.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic treatment focuses on diagnosing and treating issues with the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The goal is to restore proper alignment, improve function, and reduce pain without drugs or surgery.

The hallmark of chiropractic treatment is the Chiropractic 'Adjustment', which is an applied force to restore movement to joints and muscles, and to remove restriction throughout the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

Chiropractic treatment is typically done by-hand, but force can also be applied using adjusting tools, like an activator, or through assistance from drop-pieces on the table.  At Core, we work by hand and in-combination with these tools to deliver treatments that are comfortable and effective, with levels of force that are tailored to be appropriate for all ages and conditions.
